I always go for a walk up Montana Roja at some point in the holiday, it's kind of My Thing, it's What Dad Does. Except this year I had company, for the first time ever my family decided to accompany me for a Sunday morning hike up there. After all that walking it was only fair and just that we went for a curry at our favourite Indian in that part of town and then followed it up with enormous milkshakes (girls) and cafe con leches (grown-ups) at a very nice place overlooking the sea.

Talking of sea, eagle-eyed viewers will spot that behind the scree slopes of Montana Roja lies Fuertaventura, one of the other Canary Islands. You learn summat everyday...
