Musings of a Mortal

Edinburgh and Beyond

At the end of my, myself and one of my friends have decided that we shall pedal the John Muir Way over the course of 24 hours.

It is a 215 Km stretch that goes from Helensburgh in the West of Scotland all the way to Dunbar in the East.

Often referred to as the "Father of National Parks" more can be found about the man himself and the route, on the link at the start of this blog.

Tonight was a wee training run - Quick pedal from South Queensferry into Edinburgh, where I would be catching up with Peter and then we would be heading down the coast to Musselburgh and then back home.

A great wee spin was had by both of us and as we passed various "green spots" in the city - the smoke from the many barbecues that were lit almost created a mini smog!! A great sunny evening it was and this was the view over towards the Pentland Hills that greeted me on the way towards Edinburgh!!

More training runs are due...and then the big pedal!! Looking forward to it!!
