A Tree Is Free

Well, it's free in a way.  I've been trying to revive this yard as a useful, living space for about four years now.  Here is what it looked like then.

The space around the tree on my side can be part of the yard now.  In so small a place, that's important.  I made only a minimal harm to the bark.  

It made me feel good to do this!
