Arlington Cemetery

In Washington DC today, and we made an early visit to Arlington Cemetery to observe the 9 a.m. changing of the guard.

There are thousands of white headstones, marking the graves of military personnel, set in the rolling green lawns.

It is spring, so the cherry blossom is in bloom.

You cannot visit such a place as Arlington Cemetery, and leave without many conflicting thoughts going around your head.
