36 years on

It was a great privilege and pleasure to be asked to give the keynote address at the 36th Celtic Media Festival which is being held in Inverness this week.

35 years ago I started the event and in my lecture I told the story behind that fact but I also looked forward and suggested some new challenges for BBC Alba.

I was sorry I couldn't stay for tonight's awards event ( having chaired this year's international jury ) but the banners flying outside the Eden Court complex were a good farewell picture for me as I left to drive to Argyll.
