Devon Delight

We spent most of the day in Branscombe today, just two miles from Beer via the South West coastal path, but a mile or two longer by (a very narrow) road. We had a look at the wonderful work at the Forge, and a friendly chat with the craftsman, and then wondered over to an old, thatched cottage, where I was taken with these flower pots casually arranged on a tiered stand. The old thatched cottage is owned by the National Trust, and we had a coffee in the little garden.
The mill was closed today, so we drove down the lane to the beach. The countryside was looking incredibly pretty, with new green leaves set off beautifully by the blossom everywhere.
We sat on the long, quiet and unspoilt beach, watching the little white breakers at the edge of the sparkling sea, and the sun was warm again! Wonderful views of the cliffs. The fields high above the beach are now covered in dandelions  and buttercups.
We've had sunshine for six days: forecast for tomorrow: cloudy, with the chance of a shower!
