Near and Far
Out in the dusk this evening in Pitmedden Forest for a walk with Mark. It was quite misty so wasn't a colourful closing of the day! There has been a huge amount of tree felling since either of us was last here but my eye was caught by this spark of green spikes hanging on to the end of a felled branch, and holding itself high, like some kind of verdant firework. I wasn't sure how to compose it at first - it needed a blank background to show off the needles so it was going to have to be shot against the sky, but then I realised that the tree in the background might make a good out-of-focus partner!
