At Lake Tekapo

This is a backblip, taken when I was travelling by bus from Christchurch to Wanaka on Monday.  Our lunch stop was at Lake Tekapo.  Sadly the foreshore is being built on, with a supermarket and motels.  Why do Councils have to spoil a beautiful lake front with ghastly buildings?
