The Heart of the Rose

It has been quite a day. I was up at 5.am for an early start at the gym. There was dog walking, shopping, gardening and family visiting. I lay down for a power nap around 3.pm. It was short-lived. I was rudely awakened by a 6.3 earthquake centered near Kaikoura to the south of Blenheim. It was deep-seated but still scary. No damage here but we have spent time checking and up-dating our personal emergency bags. My image of a lovely rose is very soothing....
