Labrador and westie!

Well.. the westie has four legs the other is a Violet Labradorica.. or Alpine Dog Violet.. there was a carpet of Violets in the woods today.. the bluebells are not quite out.. perhaps another week in these woods then I might have to make a trip down there again to paint the river with bluebells on its banks.  I cannot get over how dry the ground is.. the clay mud that was wet and slippy not that long ago has turned to limestone paving with cracks and fissures going quite deep.  It can't be a good sign for April to have no showers?  I also noticed the blackthorn blossom beginning to fall.. already??
