On the way to the airport

Our flight was nt until 8 o clock so we had time to have a look at around the Reykjanes region in Southwest Iceland.
The most unusual thing we saw was a red London bus with Happy Hippie written on it with a picture of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. There were otherpictures of the Beatles. 'In Iceland , Keflavik was renowned as a source of musicians during 1960s and 1970s and is therefore also known as The Beatle Town'

The wind was so strong it nearly blew us over, so hard to walk and take photos. This is one of the lighthouses at Gardaskagi at the Northern most point of the peninsula. An older of two ( 1897) and said to be one of the best as it was low down and out of the mist however it could be hidden and damaged in surf and hidden in sea storms. It is now been refurbished and used as bird observatory. The second lighthouse was built in 1944 and is the highest lighthouse in Iceland at 28 metres.
Our flight was delayed by 45 minutes and we were glad to reach the hotel in Edinburgh at just gone 1 o clock in the morning.
