Unknown Flower
I am wondering if anyone can identify this plant for me. It is a flowering evergreen, thorny bush that grows quite tall >6 ft. In the spring it has clusters of these very tiny yellow flowers. Each little flower is about 1/8 inch in diameter (4mm) and they are quit fragrant. From a distance, one hardly notices the flowers. The thorns are nearly lethal at about 1 1/4 inch long (~3 cm). I have tried internet searching for an ID but failed.
I left a thorn or two in the image so you can see them. I didn’t include the one with blood on it as a result of the injury I sustained while getting this shot. It is amazing the lengths we will go to for a blip. Who knew Flower Friday could be dangerous?
Cheers to the weekend!
