Statue

Today was lunch back at the Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens. I took a different path through these wooded garden area and came across this statue among the trees.  I liked the little house they built to keep Mary and baby Jesus safe from the rains.  Oddly, most of the statues there are broken.  There is a headless, armless angel beside the house and several others.  Clearly, this one meant something to them.

Preston (the Shire Horse) was out in his stall waiting for carrots.  He was not feeling like performing to get them.  It was funny.  Chickens were running loose and the newly sheared sheep were still trying to hide.  The goats were enjoying a bit of sun that had crept through.  All in all a nice lunch time getaway.

If you're interested in shots from the Rancho you can check out my Flickr page.

I debated between this shot and this one.
