Snow Down Under

ANZAC WANAKA:

Here we are. I specifically wanted a photo looking out, because this is what I see every day of my life. They began arriving at 11.30am & the last ones left at 4pm. Absent from the photo is Kiwi Kath who was in Dunedin, Tussocktales who failed to arrive & Mumma Hen who left early for the Michael Houston concert.

The wind blew, the sun didn't shine, BUT ( importantly ) IT DID NOT RAIN, & we all had a wonderful day. I made a short speech of welcome then introduced Walking Wombat who instigated this Blipmeet , she read a poem, & then we all sang 3 (three) National Anthems, Aussie, N. Z. & U. K. To me this was was the highlight of the day. It was truly a wonderful occasion. Walking Wombat is standing in the middle.

When I had my book published in October, Lucy Ibbotson interviewd me for the Otago Daily Times. I told her I was a blipper & that we were having a Blipmeet in April. She said to let her know when it was on. So I did. And Lucy arrived !

Truly I loved every minute of the day; disappointed in the weather, but there were so many rays of sunshine from the blippers, we were enveloped in a wonderful warmth.......THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING.
