Grey Heron

I nipped down to the River Dee this morning whilst shopping in Chester to see if the cormorants or herons were around.

I nearly walked straight past this heron - he was so close and still that I didn't see him at first.

I love watching herons, but you have to be very patient as they stand perfectly still for ages and then explode into motion in the blink of an eye.
