"Patriotism is not enough ..."
A busy London day !
We had brunch with my daughter Kirsty and James in a lovely outdoor terrace of a smart cafe in Clapham and then went to the Apollo Theatre on Shaftsbury Avenue to see Kristin Scott Thomas for an afternoon performance of 'The Audience' . It was very entertaining - she is a superb actress .
We then sat for a while outside St Martin in the Fields in Trafalgar Square and listened to some music. There was a peaceful demonstration about the persecution of Falun Gong in China and I read a very disturbing leaflet about the harvesting of organs from prisoners.
This statue of Edith Cavell was beside the bench we were sitting on .
Now we are back in the small flat we rented for the 3 nights - slightly bewildered and dreaming of Islay :)
