Lapwing chicks

So excited to spot these chicks! Aren't they beautiful & so very well camouflaged. When they were approached by other birds they just lay down absolutely still until the danger past. The parents fly overhead as a distraction ploy screeching 'did he do it, did he do it' I thought that my bird list was going to be very much effected by the new summer temperatures(super hot!) but no I think my bird photography will continue for quite a bit longer!
