Two dozen eggs
I was examining some flints, picked up at the nature reserve, for fossils when I came across this. These beautifully arranged eggs are each only 0.5 millimetres long. They were in a depression on the underside (when found) of the flint, so I've now placed it in the same position in a container with a bed of slightly moist moss in the hope that the eggs might hatch. I have a feeling they might be from a ladybird or other small beetle. I'll let you know.
