Little Grebe Chick (Tachybaptus ruficollis)
A walk up the local canal at lunch time, where we came across a family of little grebes with three chicks. It's at time like this that only having an 18-35mm equivalent lens on the camera can be a little limiting!
Got out the 'cannon' afterwards and walked back up the canal for about a mile (I now know why I'm thinking of downsizing my camera system. I'll be heading for the physio tomorrow to put right my back!). The family were much less accommodating when I got back but allowed just a couple of opportunities for images. It really needs a visit earlier in the day when the sun is in a better position.
