Long stem

The Sarracenia flower is starting to open... it has a kind of Hellebore vibe going on.
The stem is enormously long; around 50cm, now. I suppose to keep any pollinating insects away from the dangerous traps below.
We decided that Messalina, the Venus Flytrap was looking a bit unhappy, so we mounted an expedition to a garden centre and got some Carnivorous Plant Compost (guaranteed 100% nutrient free!) Hope she'll be happier after a re-pot.
I then spent a few hours at the allotment. Did a lot of work to no visible result :(
However, the first spikes of asparagus are starting to poke through the soil :) Have to resist trying to harvest it this year, though :(
