An Artist's Life

By MariB

Sunday in Southlake

There were several bands who performed all day long in this old-fashioned pavilion. I like all the ponds and greenery in Southlake's old-timey village center. It's quite large with a couple hundred businesses, but none of it is that old. The entire town was created in 1999. This upscale suburb had no town or town center, so they built it from scratch using architecture from the 1920s to the 1940s to look like and old established village. Voila....instant civic center.

Meanwhile, we closed the show an hour early because of another huge storm complete with several tornados spotted and winds up to 70 mph. We're holed up yet again in our hotel eating power bars. Getting outta here tomorrow and heading for Santa Fe....where it's now snowing, but will clear when we get there. What a long strange trip this has been. I will catch up with you all once we get off the road home. Thanks for all your well wishes. :-))
