The Beech is Out!

During our morning walk down the wood I noted that the beech leaves were bursting out. A bit of blue sky is also evident but it was still a bit chilly with a touch of frost on the grass.
Didn't last though, did it? Before long we were having sleet and hail showers and the thermometer resolutely stayed down in single figures.
That's the good old Scottish Spring for you. At least the cold keeps the dreaded midgie at bay.
