Moored Boat at Landermere
We spent the weekend at the Kings Head - my childhood home, where my brother Steve and family now live. It's a remarkably visual place and full of memories for me.
My mother's parents bought the house in the 1920s; it had been a Public House and a country club in days gone by. It is still marked on some old Ordnance Survey maps with a "PH" symbol and every once in a blue moon a hopeful sailor will show up and enquire whether it's possible to get a drink here.
The backwaters here are tidal and spring tides have been known to flood the cellar. This is the view from just outside the kitchen window.
