Bad Day

After the heat wave comes the rain. And the flooding and the rear-enders, as motorists discover the joys of aquaplaning. The flooding happened in Toronto where the subway was submerged in a torrent of water, shutting down the entire system, possibly for days. The rear-enders happened everywhere there was a road, drivers slithering and sliding into each other with masterful attention to detail. This police car diverted our side of a 6-lane highway into a single track after two cars merged into one at a crossroad. The other side of the road slowed down to ogle the damage. Result: A monumental jam - with us in the middle and a meeting 10 minutes' away . . . Thank God, It's Friday, indeed!
