Pukeko

I went back to Sanctuary Ponds today to see if I could recapture the scene I messed up badly two days ago. Unfortunately there was only one pukeko sitting in the tree today - which is still weird as they are swamp birds who are reluctant to fly. Not as good as the four couples sitting in the tree that I tried to capture before.

There were many pukeko in and around the pond and here is one of them. They are comical birds with their long legs and huge out-of-proportion feet but their colour  is gorgeous.
