Mark di Suvero sculpture 2004

The Mariposa Arts Foundation has given New Orleans sculpture on loan as a way to enhance the city after Hurricane Katrina. This sculpture, called Stairway to Heaven is placed on the Tulane University campus and has continued there beyond its two year contract. Why, I don't know but I'm delighted because I've known of his work since the 70's and like its verticality,it's redness and the stories one can make up as to what it's form is suggesting.
