Squirrel Rest Stop
So I’m on a long bicycle ride today.
I stopped for a snack and water in Alton-Baker Park here in Eugene.
While quietly munching a granola bar and some raisins, I realized something brushed against my ankle.
I looked down to see a squirrel looking expectantly up at me.
I dropped a raisin down to him and he disappeared under the cement bench.
He didn’t go very far with his prize and soon returned for another.
This little guy had a whole vaudeville routine cooked up to capture the heart of the sitters on his bench.
I enjoyed sharing my raisins with him as I caught my breath and refueled.
