Hide Mural

I went up to Cottascarth to see the new RSPB hide. It is a much more substantial structure than the old wooden one. I think it is very much for large parties of schoolchildren. I had a few niggles with some of the design but not with Anne Bignall's mural. I walked up from Norseman village and heard two cuckoos along the road. I saw one on a telephone wire...it didn't seem to be in best voice, making a 'cuckeurgh' noise. Another was visible and audible from the hide as well as several hen harriers, a buzzard, a kestrel etc. A very nice male wheatear was about the hide but too quick for me.
