Ferryboats

One of Basel's tourist attractions are these little ferries that move back and forth across the Rhine using just the current of the river. The boats are attached to lines that span the full width of river. Some have a little Swiss flag (like this one) to show where the boat is attached while others have bunting to make the mechanism more obvious. Simple and clever.

I'd probably be faster walking over a bridge but it's definitely on my list of things to do before I leave. That list is getting longer and the number of weekends left is getting smaller!
