I fall asleep and start to dream
Of fur and blood and things that scream

Of green grass splashed with brightest red
Of teeth and fear .... and now you're dead.

I throw your body to the sky
And crunch your bones, until you lie

A broken toy between my feet
Between my jaws? A moments treat.

I whimper, full of primal joy
And mummy smiles at her good boy

'He's dreaming' she thinks, with a nod
Oh yes, I dream. A vengeful God.

I sleep-grin, then I think I hear
Another squirrel somewhere near...
