Tripod stability

Vinnie's friends might like to know that he's been officially declared Pet of the Month at our vets!

The hound himself is doing well, and occasionally forgets he's now challenged in the leg department.

Our hall runs from the front of the house to the back, and one of Vinnie's favourite pastimes has always been to lie on his bed at the front of the hall, with a view out of the open back door, down the garden, through the gate to the far end. As soon as anything crossed the garden, he'd come rocketing out of the door like a torpedo from a tube. (In his prime, his sprinting speed had to be seen to be believed - he once caught a bird in flight!)

Last week, he was lying on his bed when the squirrel made an appearance on the lawn, and he reacted as he always has. He actually got up quite a turn of speed, but took a spectacular tumble on the decking and sprained his one remaining hind leg! So we were back at the vets again - most embarrassing! But he's fine now :)

When I was taking these photos, this song I remembered from my childhood kept coming into my head. (Who would have thought it was written by Burt Bacharach?!)

And he's still hoppin' along... :)))
