Fountain of Apollo or One for the Girls

This is the Fountain of Apollo at Place Massena in Nice. It was erected in 1956 but by 1979 his 'super-sized package' was so controversial he was 'exiled to a spot where he would be less likely to upset women's delicate sensibilities' (the local football stadium).

In 2011, thanks to the efforts of a local newspaper reporter a campaign to have the big man reinstalled was successful.
