The train from Inverness ...

...arrives in Dingwall Station this morning bound for Helmsdale, Thurso and Wick, the furthest north you can travel by train but remain on the mainland. The ferry to Orkney and Shetland lies ahead, the whole thing being one of the finest and most remarkable journeys possible. Nowhere better to end than the Shetland Times Bookshop in Lerwick, but that is a different story.
