Blue-tiful!

Once the rain and the migraine had passed, it was a nice enough day. On the way to the farm, I stopped off at one of the woods and spent a few minutes snapping the beautiful bluebells. No need to go far, the blue just goes on and on right from the entrance.

At the farm I played with the kids for a few minutes before Rachel got a phone call to tell her that her 4 young heifers had escaped from their field. Her land is about 20 mins away, so we put the kid in the car and set off to find them. Luckily, someone had shut them in a neighbouring field and we were able to put them back in the right place without too much trouble.

Then we tried to fix the fence that they had broken through. This turned out to be beside an electricity pole where the electricity company had been doing some work. To access their cable, they had cleared brambles and what they must have thought was old fencing ( although it had new barbed wire wrapped around it ), creating a gap in the hedge. There's a stream running along the fence that the cows drink from and cows being cows, especially young ones, spotted the gap and decided to go through it, despite having a huge field and plenty of grass behind them!

Apparently the electricity company have caused other problems but I didn't hear what as it's difficult to have a conversation about one thing when you're also trying to keep 2 wee kiddies entertained! Mostly it was animal noises we were making. Mary is particularly good at a wide range of them, but Alex's sheep impression wins hands down!
