If We Could Turn Back Time
This modest clock sat on the mantelpiece over the open fireplace of an equally modest farmhouse from the early twentieth century. This farmer grew pure uncontaminated onion seed for a large horticultural company, hoeing those weeds alone, picking the seed heads into a hessian bag slung around his waist, then sun drying his harvest on huge tarpaulins laid on the ground, ever watchful of the weather. This humble man owned his little farm outright and never borrowed a cent in his entire life. He was hardly ever unwell and never went to hospital or had any kind of surgery. It was a simple life. He lived to 97 years of age. He was my father-in-law and our children’s Grandpa and we loved him.
Now this is up there I have just realised you can't see the key on a small screen. Mmmm.. that key was important... Still got the "L" plates on, obviously.
