Getting ready,
Mr P flew off to Basle yesterday to start his cycle ride along the River Danube hoping to reach Hungary in sixteen days.
House would be quiet but Becky, husband and three Granddaughters still staying as their new house is is still not ready.
Wanted to get lots of washing done and go to the allotment but heavy showers have put a stop to that.
In a brief dry spell I nipped into Ilkley to do a few errands: bank, dry cleaners, post office and a bit of food shopping.
While there I could see the town starting to get ready for The Tour de Yorkshie cycle race which comes through our part of the world on Sunday.
After the most fabulous Grande Depart for the Tour de France race last year we are now embarking on a lesser event. I'm sure once again the crowds will turn out, not in the record breaking numbers from last July but enough to give the riders a, 'Reet Yorkshire Welcome', as we say!
At the famous Betty's they had, as usual, a beautiful window display including these bicycle biscuits so delicately iced in their usual artistic style.
After taking this shot I found myself buying a fat rascal ( had no intention of doing this!). Just buttered it and scoffed the lot with a cup of coffee for my lunch- delicious!
