End of an era

Been a bit of an emotional day today. Sounds stupid really, I'm not leaving work, at least not yet, but it was the last time I will be allocating cash in this job, following a couple of days where we have posted our last sales and purchase invoices. Just the month end process to negotiate now and then pretty much the whole finance function will be passed across to our Shared Service Centre.

Who knows what the future holds but I've been doing this job a long time and I actually had to hold back tears for a while this morning.

Still working hard to make sure the migration to SSC and SAP goes well, still getting people telling me they would be mad to make me redundant - but as things stand that's what will be happening in the next six months. I know I'm not alone in this, it's not a unique situation, but it's hard seeing it all go to a different location.

Going to try and forget about it all for the night now!
