Tread Carefully

Today we made it as far as to the nearest sheep pen, which is by a happy coincidence where the sheep actually are right now. It was a short but brilliant couple of minutes, but I had to take great care where I put my paws because nettles are growing practically everywhere. And once out on the gravel road again, zap! there was another snake, black this time, just at the roadside, waiting. Why do they have to be on our turf precisely??

The Swedish holiday Valborg is celebrated today. People gather to light a gigantic fire and watch it burn to celebrate the arrival of spring. A choir sings traditional songs and someone makes a speech. It is also very traditional for the weather to be freezing cold, or, like today, for it to be raining cats and dogs. We don't go anywhere to do this because it often ends with fireworks, which is not for me.
