All the Love in the World
My birthday started last night with dinner with Mam and Da and Si. We had a very lovely time and I had far too much wine so much so I had to bimble slowly up to bed as soon as we got home.
Breakfast was an M&S Sausage Roll and a bottle of Sprite. Birthday wishes were flowing abundantly on social media and I was feeling quite loved. Tooli had sent me birthday wishes, Si had presented me with gifts in the morning and that was sufficient. I hadn't told anyone at work - i normally take the day off but didn't get in quite fast enough this year.
Mo arrived about an hour after me, bedecked in flowers, a parcel and card, and cakes, yes, not one cake, but CAKES. No longer a secret, I accepted happily my birthday wishes, and indulged in some Red Velvet - I could have had Carrot or chocolate or Caterpillar. :-)
I had the best conversation on line with Toolibelle, she does make me smile and when she has one of her "thoughts" it's enough to mae me giggle helplessly for quite some time.
Once I got home, Boy facetimed me from the office, and I was able to say Hello to Brad, and Miss Jo; Miss Jo told me I have a very, very lovely son. But I know this... :-)
Then tonight Si and I took a trip down to the beach, the sky was amazing. There have been clouds, there has been blue sky, there has been black clouds, there has been snow (not here, but across the water).
As I walked onto the beach, I watched a dad and his wee boy playing near the water's edge, and the mum sitting wrapped up in coats on the dunes. The snow and sleet were falling in Arran, and against the sun shining on our side of the Clyde, it made for a breathtaking sky.
And then I saw the heron... paddling quietly just in front of where the Boy and his dad were playing.. I made my way over quietly as the father and son withdrew, and I tried to get in position, but the cheeky bird saw what I was up to and flew off....
So I followed him along the beach only for him to take off again as I got close. And back and forward I ran chasing him and trying my hardest to get a shot.
As I ran along the beach, looking between the blue sky above my head, the white fluffy clouds to the north, the sleet and snow clouds to the west, and the pink and grey clouds forming to the south, i was totally overcome with how amazing life was.
How amazing that I was free to run the beach, free to watch a fantastic bird paddle along the water, free to laugh long and loud to the sky, free to stand there on the beach and just look at how brilliant the world was.
This was a great day.
