Yellow-throated Vireo
I guess it's about time I blipped a bird ~ since I'm at a birding festival! This is a Yellow-throated Vireo female, working on her nest. She's using, among other things, the sticky cobwebby stuff that tent caterpillar spin to hide in (in big gangs of hundreds of them).
The extra picture is a Yellow-throated Warbler ~ with some nesting material in her mouth ~ on a pump handle. The first bird we saw this morning ~ or at least the first one I got a nice shot of.
We were part of a group today that went out with the express goal of seeing 100 different bird species. It very nearly ended up being only 99, but at the end, we were triumphant!
And now, bed time again!
