Mythical Mermaid

Tonight I attended my great niece's school performance which was quite delightful! Each class chose a Beatles' song to perform complete with costumes and props.

Ruby's pre-kindergarten class chose 'Octopus' Garden' and the students were instructed to dress as a sea creature. While many of the girls dressed as Disney Mermaids, Ruby chose to be a Manatee! (Lucky for Ruby her Daddy is creative and whipped up her costume!)

I learned that manatees have been mistaken for mermaids by sailors! I had never read that before.
