Brecon Castle.
We left early this morning to drive to Brecon, as J wanted to go to a Model Train Fair. We drove up over the Bwlch and then over the Rhigos , which are two high mountain passes. Problem was, it was the worst kind of weather , with visibility at the top, down to almost zero. Luckily for me, the fair was in the market, which was in the town centre, so i went for a browse around the shops. There is a lovely shop that sells Joules clothes, and they had 20% off, but i didn't buy anything. i must be ill When i had finished looking around the shops, i walked back to see how long J was going to be. I saw him at the entrance to the show, and managed to convince him he had finished! As the weather was so bad we walked back to the car. I took this photo of the Castle which was overlooking the car park.
The romantic ruins of Brecon Castle, overlooking the River Usk and the River Honddu, in the heart of the town. Designed by the Normans to subdue the hostile Welsh , the castle was once a daunting sight. On the other side of the castle, which is just out of sight, is the hotel , which has been on the site since the 1800's. I have posted an extra photo of the centre of Brecon, and you can see how wet it was.
