Jublilee party

I spent most of the morning preparing a couple of dishes to take along to the Jubilee street party (well, front lawn party) someone in our road is holding this afternoon. Luckily, we had a sunny afternoon and were in danger of getting sunburnt at one point - definitely the best day of the weekend, looking at the forecast.

I stayed about 4 hours in the end, which was longer than I expected. I don't find this sort of social event very easy - I don't really know anyone very well (most of them have lived here many years) and I dont' find it very easy to make small talk. But I did my best, managed not to drink too much, and got to know a few people a little better.

Now to watch The Iron Lady while the rain is pattering down outside.
