The steep frowning glories of dark Lochnagar*

A bit of a bike-hike-run today up Glen Gairn over three Corbetts. One of them, Brown Cow Hill (829m) was as exciting as it sounds and not one I'll be rushing back to. Such are the vagaries of Corbett bagging. 45km round trip after 5 hours. I was fair puggled.

On the return to the car I spied this view of the snowy cliffs of Lochnagar so eloquently described by Lord Byron* in his song. I can see the distinctive line of Eagle Ridge which I climbed back in the day, a three star Severe rock climb onto the summit plateau.
