Honey locust
The honey locust, Gleditsia triaconthos, named for the 18th century German botanist, Johannes Gleditsch, is native to Kansas. It is an attractive tree with yellow-green leaves that really stand out among other trees. This is a cultivated specimen in our garden.
Another nice day but we keep gettiing little sprinkles of rain that don't amount to anything. In fact the map of the entire country shows no rain except a patch just west of us and extending north of St. Joseph.
My extra photo is one I took this morning. I like the silhouette effect of the cows on the skyline.
I am happy everyone like the allium yesterday. They are quite spectacular as specimen plants. Thank you for all the appreciation.
