Growing Fast

Iis it my imagination, or has spring started really early this year.  I'm astonished by the number of young around, whether they be coots, little grebes or in this case a blackbird.  I mean look at the size of the chick!  Already giving Mom a run for her money.  These two were around most of the day; the chick demanding attention and Mum rushing around looking for food. 

Unfortunately I left it late before realising I hadn't got an image so fought against the fading light and slow shutter speed to achieve an acceptable entry.
