Suilven sunset..

Slow start today after last nights success in the Rugby!

Made a net in the poly-tunnel for the cucumbers to climb up. Each plant has a string tied to a basal and top string. SO thats 30 lengths along the side of the tunnel. Then three more strands tying these together. I've never really managed to do a "net" knot.I've studied them several times, but never managed to tie them. Today I've mastered it. Two half hitches around the vertical string, and when pulled tight, the vertical contorts around the knot and stops it from sliding up and down. Worked for me anyway!

Left for Ullapool around 3:30, and got to the Garden centre about ten minutes before closing. Got the bags of compost I needed, and then took Tanni for a walk along the shore. Into the Pub for crab claws, where we met our neighbour, S, who was down for the Feisean. AN adult Gaelic class. A large event in Ullapool this weekend, and the place is heaving.

Back to the car to give Tanni another run, and then to the village hall. The National theatre of Scotland is touring with the play Uisge-beatha go lore, a gaelic version of Compton MacKenzie's book Whisky Galore. It was absolutely wonderful, and had us in stitches all the way through. Done in gealic, there were english subtitles on a computer screen. If you get the chance to go and see it, DO.. A free dram too, and all for £8..

Been bright, but a strengthening cold wind through the day. It's now blowing quite strongly, the sort of wind where you need two hands on the car doors!..

This is the last dying rays of the sun behind Suilven taken from Elphin..
