In the shadow of machair

Day 1 on Harris and whilst filling the gap between landing at Tarbert and the check in for the house that we are renting for the week we took a drive along the west coast of Harris which is renowned for having some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. On days like today you can see why.

I was drawn to the wonderful grasses or machair that line the sands of Traigh Rosamul and particularly the light shining onto the grasses and creating a shadow onto the white sand beaches. It could almost be the Caribbean!
