Caught Feeding the Neighbors chickens

Anniescottage owners live next door to a family with chickens, geese, turkeys and quail along with 4 goats and a horse. I looked across the street and saw our son in law feeding the winged birds. Don't blame him, I love it when they wonder over our way. Takes me back to when I was a kid. My folks had all of the same. We always had fresh eggs, meat from raising a calf and pig each year. We never had a lot of money, but I never felt poor. Mom was s great cook and we had plenty of good food. Also had a big garden with all the vegetables. It was a good life. Also fresh milk and home churned butter. A favorite of my dad was thick cream over fresh berries.
