Victoria Tunnels Newcastle upon Tyne

The Victoria Tunnel runs beneath the city from the Town Moor down to the Tyne. It was built in 1842 to transport coal from Leazes Main Colliery to riverside staithes (jetties) ready for loading onto ships. In 1939, it was converted into an air-raid shelter.
It is reported to be haunted by the souls of long ago many of whom lost their lives near or in the tunnels. We went for a guided tour the other evening and although I don't really believe in such stuff didn't notice the " orb " in the picture I took until I looked at the shots when I got home. Indeed every photograph taken had one or more of these visible.......
